Black Torch Anime: Ninja, Mononoke, and the Crunchyroll Summer 2026 Dub

Black Torch is a shinobi story with one foot in classic Shōnen Jump action and one foot in supernatural horror, a combination that requires a cast comfortable working across both registers. Director Kei Umabiki built the adaptation at 100Studio around the tonal energy of Takaki’s manga: brash leads, chilling villains, and a central friendship that starts as mutual inconvenience. Studiopolis produced the English dub under dialogue director Kirstie Simone the same studio and director behind the Jujutsu Kaisen dub and premiered it on Crunchyroll simultaneously with the Japanese broadcast on July 4, 2026.

Black Torch Voice Cast: Beckles, Silverstein, Diskin, and the Studiopolis Lineup

The Black Torch voice cast builds its central dynamic around two actors who understand characters that run on stubbornness. A.J. Beckles voices Jiro Azuma; his leads in Tokyo Revengers and DAN DA DAN showed he can carry a hot-headed protagonist through beats spanning comedy to real weight. Keith Silverstein plays Rago, the ancient mononoke sharing Jiro’s body. As Hisoka in Hunter x Hunter, Silverstein built a character on still menace beneath unpredictability, a quality an immortal spirit adjusting to cohabitation needs. Ben Diskin voices the antagonist Amagi; his Joseph Joestar in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure established his ability to deliver threats quietly across a long run. Ryan Colt Levy voices Ryosuke Shiba; his lead as Denji in Chainsaw Man gives real credibility to a character whose recklessness is also his greatest asset.
