Ichika Kishimojin

A tanto blade and a chip on her shoulder are Ichika Kishimojin's calling cards in Black Torch. As the most seasoned field agent under Ryosuke Shiba's Division 2, she treats Jiro Azuma's arrival as anything but a welcome occasion.

Ichika Kishimojin’s Family Legacy and Motivation

Born into the Kishimojin clan, a lineage of kunoichi so matriarchal that men are barred from its grounds, Ichika inherited duty and grief in equal measure. Her mother died at the hands of a Mononoke, turned to stone, and that loss reshaped everything about her. She runs miles before dawn and drills hand to hand combat for years, determined to prove that being a woman never disqualified her from succeeding the family name. Once she gains control over the clan’s Flameblood ability, her search for her mother’s killer turns personal rather than professional.

Working the Case with Jiro Azuma

Cold barely describes how she treats Jiro at first. She knocks him unconscious with the hilt of her Tanto, refuses to answer his questions, and tells him flatly that bonding with the Mononoke Rago makes him something other than human. Underneath that hostility sits a soldier who takes her responsibilities seriously and never walks away from an assignment, even one she resents. Time on the same squad wears down her guard, and once Reiji Kirihara joins the team, her attitude toward Jiro softens into something closer to respect.
