Growing up in the shadow of two police officer parents, Hana Usami always dreamed of protecting people for a living. That drive carried her from years of judo tournaments straight into the Bureau of Espionage, where she now serves as a backup member supporting the Black Torch squad.

Hana Usami’s Role and Personality

Before joining Ryosuke Shiba’s unit, she worked as a bodyguard in the Metropolitan Police Department’s Security Bureau, protecting both foreign and domestic VIPs. Judo training from elementary school through college kept her reflexes sharp, though nerves under pressure meant she never quite claimed a top tournament spot. Usami carries a serious, studious streak into her work, yet her honest and pleasant demeanor makes her genuinely easy to be around. Seeing Jiro and the rest of the squad risk their lives stirred something in her, and she has since sought out Toshimasa Azuma for one on one combat training, determined to offer more than logistics the next time danger strikes.
