CONTROL Resonant’s Approach to Voice Acting and Narrative
Remedy writes its games differently to most action titles. The worlds are built from documents, recordings, and characters who talk around the truth rather than toward it. CONTROL Resonant pushes that further by stripping Dylan of the internal monologue that guided Jesse through the first game. Instead of Polaris narrating his decisions, Dylan has to work things out in conversation, which means the exchanges between characters carry more plot weight than in most action RPGs. Remedy built the CONTROL Resonant voice cast around performers who could make those conversations feel like discovery rather than exposition delivery.
CONTROL Resonant Cast: Key Voice Actor Performances
Sean Durrie returns as Dylan Faden, a role he first played in 2019 and reprised through the DLC and Alan Wake II, each time serving a character whose inner life was kept deliberately obscured. Resonant finally opens that up, and Durrie’s performance across the campaign is the reason the shift works. Frankie Kevich plays Zoe De Vera, Dylan’s FBC handler; Kevich brought a similar barely-contained competence to Conduit in Apex Legends, which made her a natural fit for someone whose professionalism is cracking under the pressure of the incursion. Courtney Hope returns as Jesse Faden in a reduced but critical role, and Matthew Porretta is back as Dr. Casper Darling, a character who becomes stranger every time Remedy brings him back.
