Dylan Faden

Dylan Faden’s Story Role in Control Resonant
The FBC spent nearly two decades treating Dylan as a containment problem, yet when a reality-bending threat overtakes downtown Manhattan, they hand him a living weapon and a mission. That razor-thin distinction between asset and prisoner defines everything about him. He moves through the city recklessly, flinging himself into combat with none of his sister Jesse’s deliberate precision, and Remedy has made that aggression intentional: his gravity-defying aerial dash wobbles, overshoots, and descends fast, reflecting a man who has never learned caution because no one taught him he was worth protecting. His primary weapon, the Aberrant, shapeshifts between forms including a hammer and dual blades, and each boss class enemy he defeats, the Resonants, unlocks new paranatural abilities to fold into a deeply customizable build. Underneath all of it is a character Remedy describes plainly as broken: someone who has internalized the idea that he is nothing more than a tool.
What Makes Dylan Faden Compelling
Where Jesse spent Control searching for a brother she remembered, Dylan enters Resonant having never had the chance to build a self outside captivity. He carries no inner monologue like his sister did; instead, the game reveals him through what he says out loud, particularly in exchanges with new character Zoe De Vera during field deployments. That structural choice puts enormous weight on every conversation, because words are genuinely the only way this version of Dylan knows how to reach another person. The driving question of his arc, whether he can reclaim his humanity while being deployed as a paranatural superweapon, sits at the emotional center of a game that creative director Mikael Kasurinen frames as the other side of the same coin Jesse represented.
Who Voices Dylan Faden in Control Resonant?
Sean Durrie voices and performs Dylan Faden through full motion capture, a role he has carried since the original Control in 2019 and through the Alan Wake 2 expansion The Lake House. Durrie is also recognizable to Remedy fans for his earlier work in Quantum Break, where he played Nick Masters across both the game and its live-action TV component. His performance in Resonant covers the full arc of Dylan’s development, from a man conditioned into silence to one forced to define himself on his own terms.
