Sean Durrie

Sean Durrie’s Place in the Remedy Entertainment Universe
Few game studios build their worlds around a recurring cast the way Remedy Entertainment does, and Sean Durrie has become one of its most recognizable voices. His breakthrough in the Remedy universe came with Quantum Break in 2016, where he gave motion capture and voice performance to Nick Masters across four episodes of the game’s live-action hybrid format. That role laid the groundwork for what followed: Dylan Faden, the paranaturally gifted brother of Control’s protagonist Jesse, who Durrie first voiced in 2019 and has returned to across the game’s DLC expansions – Control: The Foundation and Control: AWE in 2020, the Alan Wake II: The Lake House DLC in 2024, and now Control Resonant, due September 26, 2026, in which Dylan steps up as the game’s lead protagonist.
Control – Building Dylan Faden From Confinement to Center Stage
Dylan Faden spends most of Control locked in a containment cell, a character whose enormous power is deliberately compressed into stillness and unsettling calm. Durrie’s performance had to carry that paradox: a voice that felt both restrained and dangerous, conveying years of isolation without tipping into melodrama. The portrayal earned consistent praise from the game’s community, and Remedy’s decision to build an entire sequel around the character – Control Resonant, releasing September 2026 – reflects how central that vocal identity became to the franchise’s emotional core. Each return visit to the role in subsequent DLC maintained the internal logic of Dylan’s character, showing careful continuity across years of work.
Baizhu in Genshin Impact and the Expansion of Durrie’s Game Credits
Outside the Remedy universe, Durrie voices Baizhu, the enigmatic Liyue physician in Genshin Impact, a role officially announced by HoYoverse and active since the character’s playable debut in 2023. The casting brought him into one of the world’s highest-profile live service games and introduced his voice to a massive international player base. His work on Lost Ark – where he contributed additional English-language voices from 2019 onward – further established him as a dependable presence in large-scale game productions. Beyond games, Durrie is a partner, producer, and co-writer at Good Life Pictures, with four co-written screenplays to his name.
