Courtney Hope’s Journey from Texas to the Oldest House

Raised in Plano, Texas, Courtney Hope began performing at age five – traveling competitively with a dance troupe before pivoting toward acting, modeling, and gymnastics. Graduating from a performing arts school at fifteen, she started college on her sixteenth birthday and earned an associate’s degree in psychology by eighteen. The path to Los Angeles was early, deliberate, and disciplined.

Quantum Break and the Remedy Connection

The Remedy Entertainment partnership that would define Hope’s gaming career started with Quantum Break in 2016. As Beth Wilder – a former Monarch Solutions operative working to bring the organization down – she delivered a full motion-capture and voice performance across both the game and its embedded live-action television series. The role established her as a credible anchor for narrative-heavy action experiences and opened the door to what came next.

Control and Jesse Faden

Control, released in August 2019, put Hope at the center of one of the decade’s most acclaimed action games. As Jesse Faden – a woman who walks into the Federal Bureau of Control searching for her missing brother and ends up appointed Director by extradimensional forces – she carried an entire game on her performance. The role earned a BAFTA Games Award nomination for Performer in a Leading Role, a nomination for Best Performer at The Game Awards, and a win at the New York Video Game Awards for Best Performance. Control itself took Game of the Year honors from Game Informer and IGN, among others. Hope reprised Jesse in both DLC expansions – The Foundation and AWE – and returned to the role in 2023 when Alan Wake 2 included Jesse Faden in a cameo. The Night Springs DLC (June 2024) went further, giving Hope a starring episode as “the Sibling,” an alternate-fiction echo of Jesse set at the Coffee World amusement park.

Control Resonant and What Comes Next

September 24, 2026 brings Control Resonant – the full sequel from Remedy – with Hope back as Jesse Faden. The game launches on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), and Mac. Hope promoted the title at San Diego Comic-Con in July 2026, marking over a decade of continuous presence in the Remedy universe.
