Returning Franchise Alumni & Legacy Roles
Barry Sloane reprises Captain Price, who begins the game as a fugitive after assassinating a U.S. general, a break from his earlier position as the commander of Task Force 141. Samuel Roukin and Elliot Knight return as Ghost and Gaz, the lieutenant and sergeant of the same unit, while Julian Kostov carries Vladimir Makarov forward from Modern Warfare III.
Rya Kihlstedt returns as CIA Station Chief Kate Laswell, and María Elisa Camargo reprises Valeria Garza, the head of the Las Almas Cartel. Warren Kole plays Shadow Company commander Phillip Graves, a role that links the game to the private military storyline of the earlier reboot entries.
New Ensemble Additions & Headline Casting
Mads Mikkelsen is the headline addition as The Archer. Narrative director Jeffrey Keith Negus told Variety that Infinity Ward wanted a villain audiences would recognize quickly without repeating Mikkelsen’s earlier antagonist work, and called him “just the most right dude for the part.”
Young Mazino, known for Beef and his turn as Jesse in HBO’s The Last of Us, takes the lead as Private Park, a South Korean soldier defending the peninsula during a North Korean invasion. Luke Tennie (Shrinking) plays First Lieutenant West, and Prisca Kim plays North Korean commander Ri Ju-Young. Negus said the team rewrote parts of Ri Ju-Young after Kim’s audition, noting “she played it so small and so focused, it really became a lot more about a quiet power.”
The Korean-American and Korean ensemble also includes Jeongmin Cho as Supreme Leader Ri Seung-Ho, Lanny Joon as Ko Jin-Hyuk, Joon Lee as Cho, Jae Kim as Sergeant So Jae-Woo, and Daniel J. Kim as Moon. Shawn Hatosy plays Colonel Shaw, and William Lipton, formerly of General Hospital, plays Corporal Joseph Dunn.
Voice Direction & Audio Production
Infinity Ward develops the game with support from ten additional studios, including Treyarch, Sledgehammer Games, and Raven Software. Digital Legends developed the Nintendo Switch 2 version, and Beenox assisted on PC. Activision publishes.
Jeffrey Keith Negus directs the narrative. The story was written by Eric Scot Anderson, Shelby Carleton, Matthew Davis, and Heather Woodward, and Stephen Barton and Jason Graves composed the score. Infinity Ward builds characters through its performance capture pipeline, which produces a one-to-one likeness of each actor, and Negus has said the studio often starts from a character design before adjusting the character to fit the person cast.
The campaign sends players through the Korean peninsula, New York, Paris, and Mumbai. Multiplayer and the DMZ extraction mode launch alongside the single-player campaign, and some campaign characters may appear as playable Operators.
