MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls (2026)

Release Date: Aug 6, 2026
Developer: Arc System Works
Arc System Works and Sony Interactive Entertainment's MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls launches August 6, 2026 on PS5 and PC, marking the first Marvel fighter since 2017. The 4v4 tag team format is Arc System Works' own design, adapted from the mechanics behind the Guilty Gear series. Marvel gave the studio permission to lean into an anime-rooted style rather than comic-accurate design — Iron Man's armor draws from mecha anime and Captain America performs like a shōnen protagonist. The MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls voice cast assembles 20 characters at launch, with veterans like Steve Blum and Josh Keaton alongside first-time Marvel casting choices.

MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls – Arc System Works, Anime Aesthetic, and 20-Character Roster

Arc System Works built its reputation on demanding fighting games, and MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls applies that philosophy to a roster of 20 Marvel characters grouped into five four-person teams. The visual approach came directly from Marvel’s own directive: rather than replicating comic aesthetics, Arc System Works was encouraged to pursue the anime-rooted style behind Guilty Gear and BlazBlue. The result is a game in which Ghost Rider’s design owes something to Bleach and Iron Man’s armor references mecha animation. Sony Interactive Entertainment publishes; the August 6, 2026 release is a PS5 console exclusive with a simultaneous PC launch.

MARVEL Tōkon Voice Actors, Blum, Keaton, Junot, and Sabogal Casting Breakdown

The MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls voice actors split into two camps: series veterans returning to roles they know, and fresh picks built around character fit. Steve Blum voices both Wolverine and Green Goblin, his take on Wolverine spans Marvel Rivals, multiple MvC titles, and more recently The Mandalorian and Grogu, making the double casting feel like institutional knowledge rather than convenience. Josh Keaton doubles up as Spider-Man and Iron Man; he played Spider-Man in Spectacular Spider-Man and Captain America in X-Men ’97, and his fluency with Marvel’s moral center applies to both roles here. Mara Junot takes Storm, bringing command presence built voicing Ikora Rey in Destiny 2. Giancarlo Sabogal reprises Ghost Rider directly from Marvel’s Midnight Suns, the rare case of an actor following a character from one game into another.
