Persona 5

Persona 5: The Phantom Thieves, the Palaces, and the Dub
Runs on tension between two registers: the mundane grind of high school life and the surreal violence of the Metaverse. Atlus built both halves with equal care, which means the voice cast had to be credible as teenagers doing homework and as masked thieves dismantling corrupt authority figures inside dream-logic dungeons. PCB Productions assembled the English dub with voice director Valerie Arem, whose background spans demanding JRPG localizations across the industry. The result is a cast that treats both registers seriously, never camping up the supernatural and never making the school sequences feel like filler.
Voice Cast: The Phantom Thieves Lineup
The Persona 5 voice actors earn their positions through casting that prioritizes character fit. Matthew Mercer voices Yusuke Kitagawa; his work as Captain Levi in Attack on Titan established a register of controlled formality and quiet feeling that carries directly into Yusuke. Cherami Leigh plays Makoto Niijima, the group’s strategist. Leigh built her reputation on roles including Asuna in Sword Art Online and A2 in NieR: Automata, and that experience with emotionally demanding characters gives Makoto’s precision a credible foundation. Erica Lindbeck voices Futaba Sakura, a shut-in hacker whose arc demands vulnerability first; her Kaori in Your Lie in April covered the same territory. Robbie Daymond plays Goro Akechi: best known as Spider-Man in Marvel’s Spider-Man, Daymond is strongest voicing characters whose public confidence conceals something darker.
