Erin Fitzgerald

Erin Fitzgerald’s Journey from Victoria to the Voice Acting Booth
Looping work is rarely anyone’s idea of a dream career launch – but for Erin Fitzgerald, six years spent doing loops and crowd vocals in Vancouver for shows like The Outer Limits built a technical precision that would define every major role to come. After earning a BFA in acting from the University of Victoria’s Phoenix Theater program, Fitzgerald cut her teeth in the trenches of post-production before landing what became a career-defining anchor: Nazz and May Kanker in Cartoon Network’s long-running Ed, Edd n Eddy. That early Cartoon Network work was enough to pull her west to Los Angeles in 2000, where the opportunities matched her ambition.
Persona 4 and the Weight of Chie Satonaka
Taking over from Tracey Rooney in 2012, Fitzgerald stepped into one of the most beloved characters in the Persona franchise – Chie Satonaka, the enthusiastic, steak-obsessed martial arts devotee at the heart of Persona 4 Golden. The role followed her through Persona 4 Arena, Persona 4: Dancing All Night, Persona 4: The Animation, and Wakaba Isshiki in Persona 5, cementing her as a fixture in the Atlus universe. In interviews, she has described Chie as a genuine extension of herself – a character she approaches with real personal warmth.
Danganronpa, Range, and the Many Voices of Junko Enoshima
No single performance demonstrates Fitzgerald’s vocal range quite like Junko Enoshima in the Danganronpa games. The role required seamlessly shifting between half a dozen distinct personalities – chipper, menacing, deadpan, unhinged – sometimes mid-sentence. That same expressive range carried into Noire and Black Heart in the Hyperdimension Neptunia series, where her Black Heart voice deepened considerably across multiple entries, and into Parasoul in the Annie Award-nominated Skullgirls. On the anime side, she contributed to Sailor Moon, Bleach, Naruto Shippuden, and Knights of Sidonia before transitioning to SAG-AFTRA union-only work following the 2016-17 video game strike.
StoryBots, Education, and a Career Beyond the Booth
Ask the StoryBots on Netflix represents a different dimension of Fitzgerald’s output entirely – a children’s educational series that has earned five Daytime Emmy Awards, two Annie Awards, and in 2023, her first personal Emmy nomination for her performances as Bo and a cluster of other characters. Alongside her on-mic work, she coaches voice actors privately and released an e-book sharing her methodology with aspiring performers, reflecting a commitment to the craft that extends well past her own session schedule.
