Dandadan
The manga ran in Shueisha’s Jump+ for years before the anime arrived, so Science SARU walked into production knowing exactly what the fanbase expected: that specific mix of gross-out horror, genuine teenage panic, and jokes that land because they arrive at the exact wrong moment. Director Fūga Yamashiro keeps that rhythm locked in. The show streams on Crunchyroll and Netflix, which gave it enough visibility to become one of fall 2024’s most-discussed debuts. None of that would have mattered without voice direction from Alex von David, who had to hold a genuinely strange show inside one emotional register.
Abby Trott plays Momo Ayase, the girl who talks to spirits and acts entirely on instinct. The role fits a particular kind of performer, one who can play reckless energy without losing the warmth underneath, and Trott already showed that range as Nezuko in Demon Slayer. AJ Beckles takes Okarun, the awkward alien enthusiast whose confidence arrives in exactly the wrong moments. His work as Takemichi in Tokyo Revengers proved he can play someone perpetually outpaced by circumstances without becoming annoying. Aleks Le brings Jiji a low-key steadiness that contrasts the chaos around him, a register he already established as Jinwoo Sung in Solo Leveling. Kari Wahlgren, cast as Momo’s grandmother Seiko, arrives with decades of range and turns a supporting role into something memorable.
That level of care runs through the full Dandadan voice cast. Bang Zoom! Entertainment made choices that reward attention, which is fitting for a show that punishes you the moment you stop paying it. From Barbara Goodson’s Turbo Granny to Ben Diskin’s Serpoian, the Dandadan voice actors listed below each carry a deeper profile that goes beyond this page. Scroll through the individual character entries to get the full picture on who played what, and what else they have been in across anime and beyond.
