Rebecca Wang’s Journey From the Edit Bay to the Booth

Los Angeles sits at the center of Rebecca Wang’s career, where she built her reputation first behind the camera and then in front of the microphone. Before stepping into voice acting, she worked as an animation editor at Netflix Animation and DreamWorks, cutting scenes for shows like Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous and Guillermo del Toro’s Tales of Arcadia trilogy. That editorial path led her to Blue Eye Samurai, where she sat on the 2023 Annie Award-winning editing team and recorded scratch dialogue for several lead characters before the show cast its final voices.

Her transition to performing happened almost by accident. Running scratch sessions put her in the booth often enough that she started auditioning for real, eventually placing among the Top 5 finalists at Bang Zoom! Entertainment’s open auditions. That result opened the door to representation with Dean Panaro Talent and steady anime casting through Crunchyroll and Bang Zoom!.

Solo Leveling and Sung Jin-ah’s Breakout

Wang’s highest-profile anime role came as Sung Jin-ah, the determined younger sister at the heart of Solo Leveling, a part she has carried across the television series, the ReAwakening film, and the second season subtitled Arise from the Shadow. The role established her as a go-to performer for emotionally grounded supporting leads in action-heavy franchises.

That reputation carried into Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle, where she voiced Koyuki in the English dub of the franchise’s record-breaking theatrical release, and into Tougen Anki, where she handles multiple parts including Kuina Sazanami and Shiki Ichinose. Additional anime credits include Ritus in That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime and the younger incarnation of Qin Shi Huang in Record of Ragnarok III.

Street Fighter 6, Genshin Impact, and Video Game Range

Outside anime, Wang has built a parallel career in games. She voices Ingrid in Street Fighter 6, Aria in Zenless Zone Zero, and both Charlotte and Morgane in Genshin Impact, alongside Carina in Fire Emblem Shadows and Mint in Goddess of Victory: NIKKE. Her trilingual background in Japanese and Chinese has also made her a fit for titles with regional crossover appeal, including Black Desert Online and Blade & Soul.

Beyond Anime: Korean Drama Dubbing and Animation

Wang has extended her range into Korean-language dubbing, contributing additional voices and supporting characters to titles including Light Shop, Love Deadline, and Marry My Husband Japan, and she voices Park Hee-sun in the dubbed version of the reality series Single’s Inferno. In Western animation, she plays Miki in Miraculous: Stellar Force and continues to provide scratch and character work across multiple studios, balancing her editorial background with an expanding list of on-screen and on-mic credits.
