Afolabi Alli’s Rise as a London-Based Stage and Screen Performer

Training at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, Afolabi Alli built his foundation through classical theatre work, including productions with the Royal Shakespeare Company. That rigorous stage background gave him the expressive range that would later carry into his screen and voice work. His early credits include the UK drama series The Split and a supporting role in the film Persuasion (2022) on Netflix.

Phoenix in VALORANT and the Gaming World

The role that brought Alli global recognition is Phoenix in Riot Games’ tactical shooter VALORANT, a cocky, flame-wielding duelist from South London whose lines – “Skrra,” “Super high-level tactic” – became instant community favorites. Alli has voiced the character from the closed beta in April 2020 through the present, appearing at events like the Valorant Champions 2025 panel. Beyond VALORANT, he voiced Sigurd in Dragon’s Dogma II (2024) and contributed additional voices to Crimson Desert.

Screen Highlights and Theatre Roots

On screen, Alli appeared in House of the Dragon (2022) as a Dragonkeeper Acolyte and in Foundation on Apple TV+. His most high-profile film appearance to date is Bong Joon-ho’s Mickey 17 (2025). Represented by United Agents and Damn Good Voices, he continues to balance live-action work with his growing presence in games and animation.
