Adam McArthur

Adam McArthur’s Path From the Bay Area to Voice Acting
Growing up in Pinole, California, McArthur trained in Wushu kung fu from age eleven and took his first acting classes in San Francisco at sixteen, booking thirty radio commercials for Macy’s within a summer. He earned a degree in Acting and Television Production from Pepperdine University in 2005, signed with CESD in 2010, and landed a recurring role on Star Wars: The Clone Wars as the Mon Cala prince Lee-Char, a part he has called the turning point of his career.
Star vs. The Forces of Evil and the Marco Diaz Breakthrough
McArthur booked Marco Diaz in 2013, two years before Star vs. The Forces of Evil premiered on Disney XD as one of the network’s top-rated animated shows. Creator Daron Nefcy has said his take on Marco balanced charm with grounded awareness across four seasons. The role also led McArthur to become the on-air voice of Disney XD, and earned him a Behind The Voice Actors People’s Choice Award in 2017.
Yuji Itadori and the Jujutsu Kaisen Phenomenon
Since 2020, McArthur has voiced Yuji Itadori in Jujutsu Kaisen, a series that set a Guinness World Record for most in-demand anime and won Anime of the Year at the 2024 Crunchyroll Anime Awards. His performance earned a Crunchyroll Anime Awards nomination for Best Voice Actor Performance in 2022. He carries the role across the television series, the Hidden Inventory / Premature Death film, and spinoffs including Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution.
Beyond Anime: Video Games and Additional Roles
His credits extend beyond those two roles. McArthur voices Chifuyu Matsuno in Tokyo Revengers and Reno Ichikawa in Kaiju No. 8, with additional parts in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, Bungo Stray Dogs, and Shadows House. In games, he originated Joker in Final Fantasy Type-0 HD and later joined the casts of Fire Emblem Shadows and Date Everything!, alongside additional voice work in Ghost Wire: Tokyo and WWE 2K24.
