Gavin Hammon

Gavin Hammon profile

Gavin Hammon works from the San Francisco Bay Area, trained at VoiceTrax SF after years drumming in the ska punk band Dance Hall Crashers. Best known for voicing Kenny in Telltale's The Walking Dead, Varus and Pantheon in League of Legends, and Beast in The Wolf Among Us, he added Invincible VS and Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred in 2026.

Gavin Hammon’s Path from Ska Punk Drums to Fabletown

Long before microphones and booths, Hammon kept time behind a drum kit for Dance Hall Crashers, the Berkeley ska punk outfit his older brother Jason helped front on guitar. Touring through his college years gave him a sense of timing and character that later translated well to voice work. Around 2000 he enrolled at VoiceTrax SF, and by 2004 he had turned that training into a full career, splitting his time between video games, interactive toys, and commercial narration out of the Bay Area, where he still lives.

Kenny and The Walking Dead’s Emotional Core

Telltale’s The Walking Dead introduced players to Kenny, a rough edged survivor whose loyalty and grief became one of the series’ defining threads. Hammon carried the role across the first season, Season Two, and A New Frontier, picking up a BTVA People’s Choice recognition for his supporting work in the original game. The character’s return in later chapters depended on choices players made, giving the performance unusual narrative weight for a secondary cast member.

The Wolf Among Us and Multi Character Range

Telltale’s Fables adaptation put Hammon’s range on full display. He voiced the hulking Beast, the criminal Tweedle twins Dee and Dum, and the sardonic Magic Mirror, at times trading lines between his own characters within the same scene. The assignment became one of the clearest showcases of his ability to shift pitch and cadence inside a single episode.

League of Legends and Recurring Fantasy Roles

Riot Games brought Hammon in for several League of Legends champions, including the archer Varus, the warrior Pantheon, and Blood Lord Vladimir. He returned to swashbuckling territory as Stan the used ship salesman in Tales of Monkey Island and again in 2022’s Return to Monkey Island, and stepped into King Arthur for Sonic and the Black Knight.

Recent Work: X-Men ’97, Xenoblade, and Invincible VS

Marvel’s X-Men ’97 revival cast Hammon as Sentinel creator Bolivar Trask and Shi’ar chancellor Lord Araki in 2024. The following year he stepped into Commander Jack Vandham for Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition and voiced Shota Kuroi in Digimon Story Time Stranger. In 2026 he picked up Cecil Stedman for the fighting game Invincible VS, taking over from Walton Goggins’ animated series performance, plus Vigo for Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred.
