The contempt he shows for the people he calls earthbound scum is, on the surface, the whole of who Veritas of the Heavens appears to be: an armored figure who looks down from the sky and sees nothing worth preserving. But the man beneath that green-and-gold exterior is Cid, the original bearer of that legendary name, the engineer who first taught the people of Lapis to build airships and reach the heavens he now rules. Betrayed by the Aldore forces he served loyally in a civil war fought seven centuries ago, he was cast out of his homeland and separated from his family, and every act of cruelty since has been a wound turned outward. Lid, the young airship prodigy who idolizes the name of Cid above all else, cannot begin to guess that her hero and her enemy share the same face until the moment the armor comes off.

Ricco Fajardo brings Veritas of the Heavens to life in the English dub of Final Fantasy Resonance. Best known for voicing Mirio Togata in My Hero Academia and Yoichi Isagi in BLUELOCK, Fajardo channels the same steel-under-calm that makes both those roles compelling, lending the character weight that goes well beyond a typical villain turn. On the Japanese side, veteran voice actor Show Hayami takes on the role, adding to a legacy that includes the iconic Sosuke Aizen in Bleach, a character whose composed menace shares more than a little DNA with the armored wind knight.
