Gerald Johnson Slink Johnson
Gerald "Slink" Johnson is an American actor, comedian, and voice artist born January 31, 1973, in Dumas, Arkansas. Best known for voicing the iconic Lamar Davis in Grand Theft Auto V (2013) and starring as the lead in Adult Swim's Black Jesus (2014–2019), Johnson has built a wide-ranging career across gaming, animation, film, and stand-up comedy. Recent credits include Good Times (2024) and Lil Kev (2025).

Johnson voiced Lamar Davis in Grand Theft Auto V (2013) and Grand Theft Auto Online, a fast-talking, street-smart character whose “roast” scene with Franklin Clinton became one of gaming’s most viral moments. Years after the game’s release, the scene resurged online as a meme format — spawning countless parodies where Lamar’s model was swapped for pop culture icons — cementing the character as a legend in gaming culture. In 2021, Johnson and Shawn Fonteno (voice of Franklin) even recreated the scene live-action.

Television Work

His biggest on-screen role came with Black Jesus (2014–2019) on Adult Swim, where he starred as the title character — a modern-day Jesus living in Compton. More recently, he voiced Dalvin Evans in the Netflix animated revival Good Times (2024) and provided the voice of Henry in the animated series Lil Kev (2025).

Beyond Gaming and TV

Johnson started out as a hip-hop artist before pivoting to comedy and acting, building a diverse career that spans film, stand-up, and voice work. His film credits include Space Jam: A New Legacy (2021), White Men Can’t Jump (2023), and Drugstore June (2024). He’s also an active stand-up comedian, performing regularly at Improv comedy clubs.
