Satoshi Yamaguchi
Satoshi Yamaguchi’s Path Through Supporting Roles and Major Franchises
Joining Haikyo in 2010 after graduating from the Haikyo Voice Actors Studio’s 35th class, Satoshi Yamaguchi (山口 恵) entered professional voice work in 2012. His early credits were the kind that define ensemble careers – background characters and minor roles that nonetheless require precision and adaptability. Across series like Aikatsu!, The Irregular at Magic High School, and Sengoku Basara: End of Judgement, Yamaguchi established himself as a dependable fixture in crowded casts.
Terror in Resonance and the Gintama Years
The 2014 Shinichiro Watanabe series Terror in Resonance offered Yamaguchi one of his earliest named roles, voicing Katou across seven episodes of the tightly wound thriller. That same year, Cross Ange and Soul Eater Not! kept him active across multiple productions simultaneously. In 2015, Gintama brought three distinct characters within its 4th television run – Demon Lord Kiyoshi, Yato, and Tomonosuke – demonstrating the range expected of seiyuu working in large-cast long-runners.
My Hero Academia, Chainsaw Man, and Frieren
From 2022 onward, Yamaguchi’s presence in flagship shonen titles became more consistent. In My Hero Academia, he voiced BROWN Regiment Officer across seasons 6 and 7, then stepped into Commander Timothy Agpar for the seventh season’s later episodes. Chainsaw Man’s 2022 television run added further credits, and Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End featured him as the Castellan in its sixth episode. These appearances across three major prestige titles within a narrow window reflect the kind of scheduling density that marks working seiyuu in high-demand production cycles.
Video Games: Genshin Impact and the SaGa Series
Yamaguchi’s game credits span mobile titles and major RPG releases. Within Genshin Impact, he voices multiple characters including Enjou, Amenoma Tougo, Kurisu, and Uncle Yun – a notably varied portfolio within a single live-service title. The SaGa franchise accounts for two entries: Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven, where he handles both the Narrator and The Hierophant, and SaGa: Emerald Beyond, covering BX10-EX and Tristan Hernandez. Final Fantasy XVI in 2023 added him to one of the generation’s most anticipated RPG casts in an additional voices capacity.
Moonrise and Recent Work Through 2025-2026
The 2025 original net animation Moonrise gave Yamaguchi his most prominent starring credit to date, with the lead role of Duan across the full series run. Alongside this, Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill’s second season and As a Reincarnated Aristocrat continued his presence in the isekai space, while Dragon Quest I&II confirmed his casting in one of Square Enix’s most anticipated upcoming releases.
