Debra Wilson’s Rise Through Comedy and Voice Acting

Eight seasons on Mad TV (1995-2003) cemented Debra Wilson as the show’s longest-serving original cast member, a record that made her a household name in American sketch comedy. Growing up in South Ozone Park, Queens, New York, she trained at the New York City High School of the Performing Arts before carving her path in entertainment. Her sharp impressions – including a celebrated Whitney Houston portrayal – became defining hallmarks of her comedic identity.

Gaming’s Go-To Voice

The video game world opened a powerful second chapter for Wilson. Her performance as Cere Junda in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (2019) and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor (2023) drew widespread praise for its emotional depth and motion-capture work. Beyond the galaxy far, far away, she voiced Amanda Waller in Batman: The Enemy Within (2017-2018) and Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League (2023), Savathûn in Destiny 2 (2021-2022), Harbinger in Halo Infinite (2021), Grace Walker in the Wolfenstein series (2017-2019), and Renata Glasc in League of Legends (2022-present).

Animation and Disney Legacy

On the animation front, Wilson has lent her voice to Family Guy, American Dad!, All Hail King Julien, Mao Mao: Heroes of Pure Heart, and Baby Shark’s Big Show! as Grandma Shark. In 2022, she became the sixth official voice of Daisy Duck – and the first African-American performer to regularly voice a member of Disney’s Sensational Six in English. She has also been announced as the new voice of Ursula following the passing of Pat Carroll.

A Career Built on Range

Wilson’s reach extends into prestige animation as well, voicing Kit in Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart (2021), Sophia Akande in The Outer Worlds (2019), and Pa’tice in The Legend of Vox Machina. She married Cliff Skelton on April 8, 2006, and sometimes goes by Debra Wilson Skelton professionally. Her career spans live-action television, stand-up, film, animation, and AAA game performance – a scope few performers in any medium match.
