Cyno

Cyno’s Dual Nature: Ruthless Enforcer and Reluctant Comedian
On duty, Cyno radiates a cold, almost mythic authority. His white hair, tanned desert-born skin, and signature jackal headdress deliberately echo the Egyptian god Anubis, and the parallel runs deeper than aesthetics: much like that deity of judgment, his role is to weigh deeds on the scales of Sumeru law. Criminals bribe him, which only earns them harsher sentences. Those who resist face something worse. Yet clock out, and an entirely different side emerges. Cyno’s obsession with Genius Invokation TCG, his habit of telling jokes so bad they require full explanations, and his willingness to roleplay with close friends paint the picture of someone who actively, if awkwardly, tries to make the people around him feel at ease. That gap between the man people fear and the man his friends actually know is what makes him one of Genshin Impact’s most genuinely layered characters.
Who Voices Cyno in Genshin Impact?
Alejandro Saab brings Cyno to life in the English dub, landing a role he once said he would “die” to play after publicly praising the character years before his release. Saab is also recognized for voicing Tatsuya Shiba in The Irregular at Magic High School and Kazuki Yasaka in Sarazanmai. For the Japanese dub, the role belongs to Miyu Irino, a veteran of the industry whose voice most audiences know instinctively from Haku in Hayao Miyazaki’s Spirited Away. Irino also voiced Koushi Sugawara in Haikyu!! and Sora in the Kingdom Hearts franchise, bringing a wealth of emotional range to Cyno’s deceptively complex persona.
