Diane Verlaine

Video Game: Alien: Isolation

Out in the cold black between the stars, one steady voice keeps Amanda Ripley tethered to something resembling safety. As captain and owner of the courier ship Torrens, Diane Verlaine becomes the lifeline crackling through Ripley's radio long after Sevastopol Station goes quiet.

Verlaine’s Role Aboard the Torrens

Hired by Weyland-Yutani in 2137, she ferries Ripley, Christopher Samuels, and Nina Taylor toward the derelict station to retrieve the Nostromo’s flight recorder. When her transmissions get jammed by the station’s APOLLO system, Verlaine refuses to abandon the crew, staying aboard with navigator William Connor to keep trying. She’s pragmatic and unshakable under pressure, the kind of veteran spacer who handles a deepening crisis with grim composure rather than panic. Her quiet help guiding Ripley back toward the ship makes her late fate sting all the more, with the Torrens ultimately compromised by a stowaway Xenomorph.

Who Voices Diane Verlaine in Alien: Isolation?

Jane Perry lends both her voice and facial likeness to Verlaine. Players know Perry best as Diana Burnwood, Agent 47’s cool-headed handler across the Hitman World of Assassination trilogy. She also won a BAFTA for her leading turn as Selene in Returnal, and voiced Rogue Amendiares in Cyberpunk 2077.
