Video Game: Alien: Isolation

When the black box flight recorder from the Nostromo turns up at Sevastopol Station, it's this soft-spoken synthetic who tracks down Amanda Ripley and hands her the chance she's been chasing for fifteen years. His offer of a seat aboard the Torrens sets the entire nightmare of Alien: Isolation in motion.

Christopher Samuels’ Quiet Heroism Aboard Sevastopol

Employed by the Weyland-Yutani Corporation, Samuels carries himself with a calm, measured politeness that sets him apart from the hollow menace of Seegson’s Working Joes. He read Amanda’s case history, understood why she kept drifting toward the region of space where her mother vanished, and reached out personally rather than treating her as a mission asset. That decency hardens into something fiercer when threatened. Cornered by a Working Joe, he reasons first, then drives the android to the floor with a single brutal punch. His end comes in Seegson Synthetics, where he interfaces with the rogue APOLLO AI to buy Amanda time, guiding her through the disconnect even as the system overloads and destroys him.

Who Voices Christopher Samuels in Alien: Isolation?

English actor Anthony Howell brings Samuels to life through both voice and performance capture, lending the synthetic his face and motion as well. Souls fans know Howell instantly as the voice of Margit and Morgott in Elden Ring, while horror players recognize him as Jonathan Reid, the conflicted doctor-turned-vampire at the heart of Vampyr. He also appears as Cyril in Final Fantasy XVI.
