Amber Lee Connors

Amber Lee Connors: From Cleveland to the Center of English Dubbing
What started in 2007 with high school theater ambitions grew into one of the most far-reaching careers in English-language anime dubbing. Raised in Cleveland, Ohio, Amber Lee Connors made her way into voice work through sheer persistence, eventually relocating to Los Angeles after cementing herself as a fixture in the Dallas dubbing scene at FUNimation. Her career spans anime, major video game franchises, and the business side of production – a combination that sets her apart from most performers in the field.
Attack on Titan, Genshin Impact, and the Roles That Defined a Career
Two credits above all others have pushed Connors into wider recognition: Pieck Finger in Attack on Titan and Furina in Genshin Impact. Pieck is a character built on quiet menace and moral complexity – a Marleyan warrior carrying impossible weight – and Connors delivers a performance grounded in restraint. Furina, the theatrical Archon of Fontaine in Genshin Impact, demanded something entirely different: grand emotional range and comic timing in equal measure. Connors met both characters on their own terms, earning her a reputation for dramatic flexibility that few dub actors manage to build so clearly across different genres.
Sound Cadence Studios and the Business of Dubbing
In 2013, Connors founded Sound Cadence Studios, a post-production company specializing in anime dubbing with offices in Texas and Los Angeles. The move from performer to studio founder placed her inside the infrastructure of the industry rather than just on its output side. Sound Cadence has worked with Discotek Media and Crunchyroll, expanding the volume and quality of English-language dubs reaching audiences outside Japan. Running a studio while maintaining an active performing schedule is rare – and it signals a long-term commitment to shaping the field, not just working within it.
A Credit List That Covers the Spectrum
Across anime, her roles range from Nozomi Kaminashi in Keijo!!!!!!!!, Mei Aihara in Citrus, and Shoko Komi in Komi Can’t Communicate to Gwess in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean, Mei Mei in Jujutsu Kaisen, and Nakime in Demon Slayer. On the game side, her credits include I-NO in Guilty Ear: Strive, Shirley Orlando and Roselia in The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel, Halara Nightma in Master Detective Archives: Rain Code, and Toy Chica in Five Nights at Freddy’s. In 2026, she launched the VTuber persona Ambear Lee, adding a live streaming dimension to an already wide-ranging career.
