Christopher Bevins’s Journey Through Anime Dubbing

Los Angeles native Christopher Philip Bevins entered the anime dubbing industry in 2001, building a career that spans both performance and direction. Over more than two decades he has lent his voice to hundreds of English-language anime productions while also stepping behind the booth as an ADR director, working across Funimation, Crunchyroll, Bang Zoom! Entertainment, OkraTron 5000, VSI Los Angeles, and Studio Nano.

Hetalia, Street Fighter, and Signature Roles

To fans of character-driven anime dubs, Bevins represents a recognizable voice behind some of the medium’s most enduring figures. He voices Japan in Hetalia: Axis Powers, a role he has carried through multiple seasons and films of the series. In video games, he gives voice to Dhalsim in Street Fighter IV and Street Fighter V, bringing the yoga master to a new generation of players. His anime credits include Yasuhiro Hagakure in the Danganronpa franchise, Narsus in The Heroic Legend of Arslan, Mercutio in Romeo x Juliet, Shishiwakamaru in Yu Yu Hakusho, Hanta Sero in My Hero Academia, Wataru Takagi in Case Closed, Nicholas Wayne in Baccano!, and Bee in the Dragon Ball Super and Dragon Ball Z Kai dubs.

From Performer to ADR Director

Behind the microphone, Bevins has shaped how dozens of anime series sound in English. His directing credits include Princess Jellyfish, Ping Pong the Animation, ACCA: 13-Territory Inspection Dept., Terror in Resonance, GANGSTA., Mr. Osomatsu, Jormungand, and the Danganronpa anime series, among others. That dual role as actor and director has placed him at the center of casting decisions for some of the most talked-about Funimation and Crunchyroll releases of the past fifteen years.

Personal Life

Bevins is married to fellow voice actress Rachel Robinson, with whom he became engaged in 2018 before marrying in October 2019. He continues to work and reside in Los Angeles.
