Fox McCloud

Fox McCloud’s Role and Personality in Star Fox (2026)

Raw talent and a burning sense of justice carry Fox further than experience ever could. Nintendo’s own character notes describe him as “young and talented” yet still maturing as a leader, a gap that the 2026 remake leans into with expanded mission briefings and dialogue that put the team dynamic under a sharper lens. Cocky under pressure but fiercely loyal to every member of his crew, Fox steers his Arwing through an escalating campaign where the Andross threat hits far closer to home than any military briefing could prepare him for. The game’s new prologue cutscene sets the emotional stakes early, showing the betrayal that claimed James McCloud, ensuring that Fox’s showdown with Andross carries the full weight of a son trying to chart his own course while flying straight into his father’s shadow.

Who Voices Fox McCloud in Star Fox (2026)?

Hunter McCoy takes on the role of Fox McCloud in the English dub, bringing a fresh energy to the character for the franchise’s first major console release in years. McCoy is no stranger to high-profile productions, having appeared in Genshin Impact, Neverness to Everness as the male Esper Zero, and Disney Twisted-Wonderland the Animation as Deuce Spade. On the Japanese side, Eiji Takeuchi voices Fox, continuing in the role he originated for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, making him the consistent face of Fox McCloud across Nintendo’s current multimedia push.
