Caustic

Caustic in Apex Legends: The Toxic Trapper of the Arena
Alexander Nox, better known as Caustic, is one of Apex Legends’ most menacing Controller Legends. A former scientist at Humbert Labs, he secretly used human test subjects for his Nox gas experiments, and when the company discovered his work, he faked his own death and vanished into the underground fighting circuit of the Apex Games. His reasons for competing have nothing to do with money or fame. He treats every match like a laboratory, and every opponent is just another data point.
Abilities Worth Knowing
Caustic’s entire kit revolves around toxic gas control. His tactical ability, Nox Gas Trap, deploys up to six canisters that release deadly gas when triggered by enemy movement or gunfire, turning tight corridors and buildings into nightmares. His passive, Nox Vision, highlights enemies inside the gas, giving him a serious advantage in the chaos he creates. His ultimate, Nox Gas Grenade, floods a large area with toxic fumes and is one of the game’s most punishing zone-control tools in late-ring scenarios.
The English Voice: JB Blanc
Caustic is voiced in English by JB Blanc, a Paris-born, Yorkshire-raised actor trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. His career spans theater, film, animation, and games, with standout roles including Bane in Batman: Arkham Origins, Vander and Warwick in Arcane, Ryotaro Dojima in Persona 4, and Dr. Barry Goodman in Breaking Bad. Blanc brings a cold, clinical menace to Caustic that makes the character feel genuinely unsettling rather than just cartoonishly evil.
The Japanese Voice: Satoshi Taki
In Japanese, Satoshi Taki (滝 知史) handles Caustic’s lines. Born in Shiga Prefecture in 1964 and affiliated with Ken Production, Taki has a long list of game credits, including the Arkham Knight in the Japanese dub of Batman: Arkham Knight and roles in the Suikoden series, plus anime appearances in Romeo X Juliet and CLANNAD: After Story. His deep, controlled delivery fits Caustic’s detached, aristocratic cruelty.
