Luna Lauren Velez

Luna Lauren Vélez (born November 2, 1964) is an American actress and voice actor best known for voicing Rio Morales — Miles Morales's warm, fierce Puerto Rican mother — in Sony's landmark Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018) and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023). Her emotionally grounded delivery makes Rio one of animation's most memorable matriarchs. A veteran of Dexter, Oz, and New York Undercover, she brings deep screen experience to every voice role. She is set to reprise Rio in Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse (2027).
