Diana in Pragmata: Capcom’s Most Mysterious Android Companion

Diana, also registered as unit D-I-0336-7, is one of the two central protagonists of Capcom’s sci-fi action-adventure game PRAGMATA. She appears as a young android girl with platinum hair, rosy cheeks, and a child-like curiosity that masks the full scope of her capabilities. Built by Babel Industries, she wears an oversized blue jacket and walks barefoot, a small detail that quietly underlines just how different she is from any ordinary human child.

What makes Diana genuinely compelling is the tension between her innocent presentation and her surprising usefulness. While Hugh Williams handles most of the combat, Diana contributes through hacking into security systems, disarming enemy armor via control panels, unlocking pathways, and scanning the environment to guide the duo forward. Her true potential remains largely unknown, even to Diana herself, which keeps a thread of mystery running through every moment she shares with Hugh. Director Yonghee Cho noted that Capcom went through considerable struggles to express her android nature in ways that felt authentic across different global cultural contexts.

The relationship between Diana and Hugh sits at the emotional core of the game. The two come from very different worlds and have to figure each other out as they push through a hostile lunar research facility, working to defeat its controlling AI and find a way back to Earth. Hugh carries Diana on his back throughout much of the gameplay, which gives their partnership a physical weight that matches the emotional one.

The British actress trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and is best known for her television role as Ani Achola in Netflix’s “13 Reasons Why.” She has also done notable video game voice work, including Jar-Bairn in Elden Ring.
