Ben Norris’s Journey from Stage to Elden Ring

A Nottingham-born writer, actor, and theatre-maker, Ben Norris built his reputation through spoken word poetry and theatre before breaking into voice acting. He originated the role of The Poet in the internationally touring jukebox musical The Choir of Man when it debuted in 2017, writing the show’s monologues – a production that went on to play London’s Arts Theatre and tour worldwide.

The Archers and BBC Radio 4

Since October 2018, Norris has voiced Ben Archer in the long-running BBC Radio 4 drama The Archers, accumulating over 209 episodes through 2025. The role marked his entry into audio performance and proved his range beyond stage and spoken word. It remains one of his most sustained and visible credits.

Elden Ring and FromSoftware

Gamers worldwide encountered Norris’s voice through the 2022 FromSoftware epic Elden Ring, where he voiced Rogier – the sorcerer knight who guides the player through early story revelations – as well as Young-Voiced Protagonist 1 (Type A) and the Godskin Apostles. His archive sound returned in Elden Ring: Nightreign (2025), extending his presence in the franchise.

Stage, Poetry, and Film Work

Norris’s theatrical roots run deep: his debut solo show drew on his background as a spoken word poet, and his pamphlet some ending was published by Verve Poetry Press in 2019. He also created Track Record, a spoken word poem celebrating LNER railway accents, fronted by DJ Edith Bowman. On screen, short films like Chronos (2019) and Hard, Cracked the Wind (2019) showcase his on-camera work alongside his writing and directing credits.
