Solid Snake/David

Solid Snake’s Personality and Story Role
Cold logic and dry wit form the outer shell, but underneath lies a soldier perpetually wrestling with the cost of survival. With an IQ of 180, fluency in six languages, and training earned across the Green Berets and FOXHOUND itself, Snake dismantles conspiracies the way he dismantles enemies: methodically, relentlessly, and never without psychological damage to show for it. He despises the myth of the hero, even as every mission rewrites him deeper into legend. What makes him remarkable is not the combat prowess but the refusal to stop asking what it all means, lighting a cigarette in the shadow of a Metal Gear and still finding a reason to push forward.
Who Voices Solid Snake in Metal Gear Solid?
David Hayter delivers the English performance, and his gravel-edged delivery became so inseparable from the character that fans mourned it as a loss when he did not return for Metal Gear Solid V. Hayter also voiced Big Boss and Naked Snake across the Metal Gear series and appeared as Snake in the Super Smash Bros. franchise. On the Japanese side, Akio Otsuka owns the role with the same authority he brings to Daisuke Jigen in Lupin III and Shunsui Kyoraku in Bleach, a deep, measured voice that Kojima himself used as a physical and behavioral reference point when shaping the character.
