Scorpion / Mac Gargan

When Kraven the Hunter arrives in New York looking to prove himself against the most dangerous prey imaginable, Mac Gargan's return from the Raft turns into something far grimmer than a rematch with Spider-Man. In Marvel's Spider-Man 2, the armored psychopath best known as Scorpion resurfaces as a minor antagonist, only to become a brutal demonstration of just how lethal the game's central threat truly is.

Scorpion’s Role in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

Mac Gargan carries the weight of a genuinely ugly history into this sequel. Before Insomniac ever put him in a scorpion suit, he was already a kidnapper, torturer, and violent criminal, someone whose worst instincts the experimental serum didn’t create so much as amplify. His armor fuses with his biology to keep him alive, his cybernetic tail pumping hallucinogenic venom capable of making victims physically experience whatever nightmare their mind conjures. In Spider-Man 2, that menace gets cut brutally short: Kraven the Hunter intercepts Gargan, shatters his iconic tail, and delivers a killing blow while Peter Parker watches helplessly through a camera feed. It’s a cold and efficient scene, and that’s exactly the point, using Scorpion’s death to establish Kraven as a threat operating on a completely different level than anything New York’s Spider-Men have faced before.

Who Voices Scorpion / Mac Gargan in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2?

Jason Spisak reprises the role he originated in the 2018 game, bringing the same coiled menace to Gargan’s limited but memorable screen time. Spisak is one of animation’s more versatile character voices, perhaps best recognized for his long-running work as Kid Flash / Wally West in Young Justice, but he has also brought distinctly different energy to roles like Silco in Arcane and the Joker in Batman: Hush. The Japanese dub features Ryusei Nakao in the role, according to Behind the Voice Actors.
