Mamoru Hayase

Mamoru Hayase’s Story Role
Representing the Star Arcana (Arcana XVII) in the Social Link system, Mamoru carries the weight of his entire family on his shoulders. A national-level sprinter who has already drawn scholarship and corporate sponsorship offers, he seems destined for greatness on the track. But beneath that confident exterior is someone wrestling with a brutally honest question: should he chase his own dreams, or sacrifice them for the survival of his struggling family?
Mamoru Hayase’s Personality
Warm and straightforward, Mamoru connects with the protagonist almost immediately after their race, recognizing kindred spirit in a rival. His Social Link arc does not glamorize sacrifice or triumph, but lands somewhere far more grounded: by the end of the game, a letter from him reveals he found genuine fulfillment working at a factory, having let go of his track dreams with no bitterness attached. It’s one of the more quietly powerful resolutions in the game, showing that hope isn’t defined by a single road forward. Unlocking his full Social Link rewards the protagonist with a Car Key, enabling the fusion of Helel, the ultimate Star Persona.
