Slick Waiter

The Slick Waiter is a recurring background NPC in MOUSE: P.I. For Hire (2026), the rubberhose-style first-person shooter developed by Fumi Games and published by PlaySide Studios. He works the floor at The Velvet Trap, a high-end jazz club that serves as a key investigation site for protagonist Jack Pepper throughout the game. Dressed in an impeccable tuxedo and wearing a permanent smirk, he stands out visually among other background characters thanks to a notably polished animation cycle.

In gameplay, the Slick Waiter plays a small but memorable role. During the Gumshoe in the Opera mission, players can pay him 30 bucks to get upstairs discreetly or simply find another route through the vents. Despite his minor canon status, his recurring presence in every club scene has built him into a cult favorite with players speculating about his true loyalties.

Slick Waiter is voiced by Daniel Caouette, a Phoenix-based voice actor who also handles the Stage Designer and additional voices in the game. Caouette is best known for voicing Baron Bloodthorne in the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise for Konami, and has built credits across animation, commercial work, and video games, including AFK Arena and Oblivion. No Japanese voice cast has been officially confirmed for the Slick Waiter, as the Japanese dub credits for minor NPCs in MOUSE: P.I. For Hire have not been publicly disclosed.
