Dominic Santiago

Dominic Santiago’s Story Role
Set on Emergence Day itself, E-Day places Dom at the very origin point of the Locust conflict, fighting alongside his childhood best friend Marcus Fenix. Dom is not yet the battle-worn, grief-stricken soldier fans remember from later games; here he is still a man with everything to lose, driven by the desperate need to protect his family, including his wife Maria and their children, who vanish in the chaos of that terrible first night. The prequel strips away the years of hardship to show the man before the tragedy broke him, making each moment of loss hit that much harder in the context of what fans already know.
Dominic Santiago’s Personality
On the surface, Dom radiates warmth, a charismatic extrovert who keeps morale alive even when everything is collapsing around him. That outward bravery, however, is armor over something far more fragile: a deep, almost desperate loyalty to the people he loves. He joined the COG Army at just sixteen, following family tradition but equally driven by the instinct to shield those closest to him. Where Marcus processes the world through stoic determination, Dom processes it through connection, making him the emotional anchor of every squad he is part of.
Who Voices Dominic Santiago in Gears of War: E-Day?
Carlos Ferro reprises his role as Dom, a part he has held across every mainline Gears title in the franchise. Ferro and Marcus’ voice actor John DiMaggio, best known outside gaming for voicing Bender in Futurama, both confirmed their return on the 18th anniversary of the original Gears of War in November 2024. Their reunion brings an authentic chemistry to the roles that no recasting could replicate.
