Eric Samuels – Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Character & Voice Actor

Eric Samuels shows up in both Call of Duty: Black Ops II and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, and his role gets way bigger in the second appearance. When we first meet him in Black Ops 2, he's working as a Secret Service agent trying to keep President Marion Bosworth alive during those insane drone attacks that Raul Menendez launches on Los Angeles. Pretty standard protective detail stuff, just with way more explosions and chaos than your typical presidential security gig.

Fast forward to Black Ops 7 and Samuels has completely changed careers. He's now part of David "Section" Mason's elite JSOC squad called "Specter One" and he's actually one of four characters you can play as during the campaign. That's a massive upgrade from background Secret Service guy to full-on playable protagonist.

Voice Actor – John Eric Bentley

Eric Samuels is voiced by John Eric Bentley, who’s got some serious gaming credentials. Bentley’s probably best known for playing Barrett Wallace in Final Fantasy VII Remake – that’s the big guy with the gun grafted onto his arm who’s always yelling about Shinra. He’s also done voice work in Mortal Kombat 11, Marvel’s Spider-Man on PlayStation, and shows up in tons of other games and animated projects. The guy’s got this deep, commanding voice that works perfectly for tough military types and authority figures.
Getting Bentley to voice Samuels makes sense when you’re promoting a character from minor NPC to main protagonist. You need someone who can actually carry dialogue scenes and make players care about the character, and Bentley’s definitely got the chops for that.
